Jackie Chan to build new theme park in Beijing

Jackie Chan announced Thursday that he intends to build a theme park in Beijing, where items from his personal collections, along with the Chinese antique buildings he owns, will be on display.

BEIJING: Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan announced at a media event on Thursday, plans to build a theme park in Yizhuang, Beijing, in collaboration with a local organisation, reported Chinese media.
The two square kilometre park, named JC World, will have five main paths, each with a separate theme, and aims to give visitors a variety of cultural experiences.
Chan said he will exhibit numerous items from his personal collections, such as special furniture and jewellery, at the park.
“I was very poor when I was a child, so when I had money later on, I bought all sorts of things and went around the world collecting them,” said Chan.
“I want to exhibit all my stuff. They may not all be worth a lot of money, but they may have a story behind them.”
Chan will also be donating the remaining Chinese antique buildings he had purchased and restored over the years to the park.
The park will have no admission fee but contain some ticketed attractions.
“60 per cent of the park will be free, 40 per cent will be ticketed, with the money used to maintain the antique buildings.
“I am not short on money,” said Chan, who is set to shoot a new film with Chinese director Zhang Yimou next year.
Antique burden
Chan’s antique buildings had previously been at the centre of a controversy which saw Chinese netizens blast him for donating four of them to a Singapore university, as they believed the buildings were cultural relics that belonged in China.
Chan explained that the buildings had been “a huge burden” to him for years, and that he had spent huge amounts of money to restore and preserve them, only to discover he could not find a home for them.
“You don’t know the whole process. If I give you these antique houses right now to manage, let’s see how you do it!
“You probably won’t even be able to afford to upkeep them,” said the actor, adding that he had begged a lot of people for over a decade for a place to put his antique buildings, but got nowhere.
It was only after his donation to a Singapore university that he received offers from the world over to house his remaining antique buildings.
Not even his son cared about them until the controversy over his donation revealed how valuable they were.
“He wasn’t interested then. When the news broke, he became very concerned,” said Chan with a smile.
“Now he regrets it, but I have donated them all to China.”

Did Jackie Chan, the 59-year-old action star who does his own stunts, really fall to his death while filming a movie in Austria?

UPDATE: The “Jackie Chan is dead” rumors are alive and well, just like Chan himself, reports the International Business Times. The rumor, once again, is that Chan died while doing one of his own stunts, this time falling off of a 12-story building. Unlike last time, Chan, who must be tired of having to convince the world he’s still alive, has not Tweeted or messaged his fans to inform them that he’s still alive. But like last time, all of the rumors are coming from less than reputable sources.
Previous story:
FALSE: The death hoax strikes again
Jackie Chan, the 59-year-old action star famous for doing his own stunts, reportedly died while filming a movie in Austria. But it’s all a hoax, reports the International Business Times and Snopes.
Snopes says the report of Chan’s death originated at mediafetcher.com, which it describes as a sort of user-generated MadLibs for celebrity death and dismemberment. IB Times says that Chan also wrote a Facebook message to his fans just to reassure them.
“If I died, I would probably tell the world!” the actor wrote. “I took a photo with today’s date, just in case you don’t believe me! However, thank you all for your concern. Kiss kiss and love you all!”
Chan was last reported dead in 2011, when he had supposedly succumbed to heart failure. Just another reminder that when the Internet says your favorite celebrity has passed away, you have a responsibility to stay skeptical.

Jackie has had his hair cut for his role in New Police Story. At a fan club gathering in Hong Kong, Jackie asked how his fans would prefer his hair to be. “SHORT!” So now Jackie’s hair is short and many of his fans are once again happy. Of course, we love Jackie no matter what his hair looks like, right?
You just gotta love the guy!

Penny Tai and Jaycee Chan in Love?

Penny Tai and Jaycee Chan in Love?

Talented Malaysian singer Penny Tai (also known as Dai Pei Nee) was rumored to be in love with Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee Chan, who is 4 years her junior. According to some Hong Kong tabloids, Penny has relations with several young actors including Jaycee. It was reported earlier this month that Jaycee sent hundreds of short messages to his dream girl Penny while filming in China.
The 28 year old Penny is widely acknowledged as a musical genius! She writes, composes, arranges, performs and produces all her songs. At this year’s Golden Melody Awards, Tai was voted the best composer for her popular song “Crazy Love”. When some newspaper mentioned her love affair with Jaycee, she only gave a shrug of her shoulders, “I cannot stop paparazzi’s mouth, but their words won’t change facts!”
Anyway, as long as she keeps on writing good songs, it doensn’t much matter who she’s with!

BEIJING, March. 10 — Hong Kong action film star Jackie Chan returned to his Australian roots Saturday to bury his father alongside his mother almost six years after she died in Australia’s capital.
Chan’s father Charlie died in a Hong Kong hospital Feb. 26, aged 93, after battling prostate cancer. Chan brought his body back to Canberra to be laid to rest beside Lee Lee Chan, who died in 2002.
“It’s a hard day. I loved my father so much because he did so much for me when I was young. We had a very poor family and he left Hong Kong to support himself. He was just the greatest father for me,” a distraught Chan said.
Hundreds of mourners including the U.S. ambassador and Chinese deputy envoy attended the funeral at a leafy winery on the outskirts of Canberra, before burial at a nearby cemetery.
Jackie Chan, star of Hollywood films such as “Rush Hour” and “Rumble in the Bronx,” arrived in Australia aged 6 after his father moved there for work in the 1960s, but was soon sent back to Hong Kong to attend the China Drama Academy.
He continued to spend lengthy periods in Canberra with his parents, briefly attending a local high school.
Living in Australia for 40 years, Charlie Chan went from head cook at the U.S. Embassy to a successful local restaurant owner, though most of his final years were spent in Hong Kong with his actor son after his wife died.
Chan will shortly team with fellow action star Jet Li for the new adventure epic “The Forbidden Kingdom,” to be filmed in China, and is also a goodwill envoy for this year’s Beijing Olympics.
He said he planned one day to move his parents’ bodies back to their homeland of China. Charlie Chan came from Shandong Province.
Friends and mourners inside the funeral said Chan was “very distressed” as he and others passed a wall of family photographs, many showing father and son hugging or fishing together.

Jackie Chan’s wife supervises his filming

The kung fu superstar makes his first film in Taiwan after 20 years

Jackie Chan

Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan was in Taiwan recently, to shoot a scene for his 101th movie 12 Zodiacs, with his wife, retired actress Joan Lin in tow.
Wearing a pair of sunglasses, Jackie appeared at Taiwan’s East Coast at 7am. To avoid interruptions from the media, the production crew set up barricades 300 feet (91m) away from the shoot location.
Moments later, Korean actor Kwon Sang Woo, decked in surf attire, appeared with two beautiful ladies.
At around 11am, Jackie’s wife, Joan was spotted on set. She chatted with a female companion, and met with Jackie — who was clad in a towel because he had filmed a water scene — for lunch.
During lunch, the 57-year-old sat opposite his wife and constantly fidgeted with his towel.
Twenty years ago, Jackie filmed Crime Story in Taiwan and won the Best Actor award at the Golden Horse Awards for his role in the movie.
While his previous comments about “chaotic conditions” in Hong Kong and Taiwan riled the Taiwanese, causing them to boycott the actor, his love for the country spurred him to return last year to source for location for his latest movie.
In other related news, it is rumoured that Joan, who is also JC Group’s CEO and secretary, has control over Jackie’s NT$9 billion (S$390 million) worth of properties and is in charge of his financial expenditures.

Jackie Chan’s love-child makes an appearance

Jackie Chan’s love-child makes an appearance
Action star Jackie Chan’s (成龙) fling with former Miss Asia Elaine Ng (吴绮莉) more than a decade ago sent shock waves through Hong Kong showbiz circles at that time.
He has never met their daughter Etta Ng (吴卓林), now 11 years old, although he has said that he pays child support of HK$350,000 (US$45,000) per month and provided a property worth HK$3 million when Elaine and Etta emigrated to Shanghai.

The mother-and-daughter pair recently made their first cover debut on the Hong Kong-based Ming Pao Weekly (明报周刊).
The single mom said Etta once asked her, “How come everyone has a dad, except me?”
She said she told the girl that she was young and self-willed when she had an affair with Jackie.
“I don’t want my daughter to repeat my mistakes.”
The actress said Etta is mature and knows that Jackie is her father. Elaine said she has supported herself and her daughter through the years and never asked to meet the Hollywood star.
Jackie and Elaine started their affair in 1999.
When the news of her pregnancy broke out, Jackie held a press conference, saying, “I’ve made a mistake. A mistake that all men in the world make … I will take responsibility if the baby is mine.”
Elaine has kept a low-profile since Etta was born.

The former actress was said to be saving up for her daughter’s future education expenses

Posted Image

A few months ago, former beauty queen Elaine Ng and her daughter Etta Ng relocated to Hong Kong after staying in Shanghai for the past 10 years. She had also begun making preparations for Etta to enroll in middle school.

After their return to Hong Kong, Elaine borrowed her friend Chingmy Yau’s car to get around and to help her daughter find a new school. In the end, she chose a Christian international school for Etta, where she will start her studies in September.

Elaine, without any makeup on, personally picked Etta up from school in her new SUV.

Returning to their apartment, Etta entered their apartment unit happily. On the other hand, Elaine, who looked tired, walked slowly behind her, carrying a big bottle of distilled water and two bags of groceries into the house.

Life for Elaine had not been easy, after her return to Hong Kong.

The school, which Etta is currently attending, is one of Hong Kong’s most expensive schools. Every student is expected to pay tuition fees, which cost more than HK$100,000 (S$15,600), annually, and new students have to purchase school bonds, worth HK$190,000. (S$29,500),

Elaine’s current earnings from her talk show would only be sufficient for her to pay her daughter’s annual school fees.

The former actress had also let on that Etta wanted to study in Harvard. In order to realise her daughter’s dream, the pair had been living a thrifty lifestyle, by wearing simple clothing, eating economically, driving a fuel-saving car and living in a rural area.

This would allow Elaine to save up enough money for Etta to attend a better school.

It is no wonder Elaine updated her microblog recently, saying, “It’s difficult to be a human.”

It may be a tough year ahead for the former beauty queen, after she was cheated of her money and lost in the stock market

Former beauty queen and actress Elaine Ng was rumoured to have received alimony, worth about HK$30 million (S$5 million), and a monthly allowance of NT$400,000 (S$17,000) 12 years ago after she gave birth to kungfu superstar Jackie Chan’s daughter Etta Ng.

The conditions of payment was both Elaine and Etta must remain in Shanghai, China.

However, Jackie insisted that he had never paid the actress the said money.

Lately, Elaine sold her properties in Shanghai and relocated to Hong Kong, because of her daughter’s education.

The former actress took on a hosting gig at $1,000 per episode, in order to earn extra income for her family. However, she could hardly make ends meet because of her expenses, which included her daughter’s needs, car and residence.

Recently, the actress reportedly told her friend that she gave a six-figure sum (S$17,000) to her uncle’s ex-girlfriend, to invest in setting up a children talent class.

However, the girl vanished with her money, causing Elaine to post on her microblog, “Help, I’m devastated.”

Elaine’s future appeared bleak, after her show was cancelled a few months ago. In desperation, the actress signed on with Hong Kong broadcast station TVB, although her paycheck was halved.

When approached, Elaine admitted to reporters that she was cheated and was in desperate need of money.

The media then asked if Jackie had stopped giving her money, to which Elaine’s expression darkened immediately.

“I’ve never said he had given me money before,” she said.

A few days ago, when Jackie’s son Jaycee Chan was asked if he would help Elaine and her daughter through their hard time, the actor replied, “I don’t want my mother to be unhappy. I don’t keep contact with them.”

Elaine Ng

Former actress Elaine Ng, who relocated from Shanghai back to Hong Kong earlier this year with daughter Etta Ng, organised a birthday party for the latter to celebrate her 12th birthday two days ago.
Elaine had celebrated her daughter’s birthday every year without fail while they were living in Shanghai.
Now back in Hong Kong, Elaine decided to hold a barbeque party for Etta two days ago and several of the young girl’s classmates were invited.
Despite the rain on the night of the party, the birthday girl’s mood was not dampened and she was seen playing while barbequing her food.
Both Elaine and Etta, who had been living in Shanghai for the past 10 years, seemed to have since adapted to their new life in Hong Kong.
Etta now studies at an international school while Elaine is set to resume her showbiz career, having inked a deal to host a talk show recently.

Jackie Chan’s Affair Resurfaces…Again

(photo: asia one)

It’s been public for some time now that Jackie Chan cheated on his wife 11 years ago with Miss Asia 1990 Elaine Ng Yi Lei and fathered a daughter, Etta Ng Cheuk-lam (Etta Wu), from the affair. Now the child is asking, “Where Is Daddy?”
Elaine told Hong Kong’s Ming Pao Weekly that their daughter has been asking where her father is. Some speculate Elaine wants more money from the action superstar. Jackie reportedly pays S$70,000 in monthly child support. He also gave Elaine S$600,000 when she relocated to Shanghai.

My thoughts: In the article Elaine says she only wants the best for her daughter. However, she agrees to discuss the affair AND pose for a mother-daughter magazine cover. What mother would do that?!? Folks, I’m not believing moms has her kid’s best interest at heart. Btw, did Jackie Chan’s lawyer forget to include a no-talk clause in the settlement agreement??? Geez.

Jackie Chan’s Illegitimate 11 Year-Old Daughter Returns to Hong Kong

Jackie Chan’s Illegitimate 11 Year-Old Daughter Returns to Hong Kong thumbnail
Eleven years ago, Elaine Ng Yi Lei had an affair with Jackie Chan and gave birth to their daughter,Cheuk Lam. After the scandal broke out, the married Jackie dismissed the affair by saying, “I committed a wrong-doing that men all over the world are guilty of!”
Afterwards, Elaine moved to Shanghai with her daughter, who grew up in a single parent family due to her father’s absence. Allegedly, Jackie gave a monthly stipend of $350,000 (Yuan) to Elaine. The amount would pay for living expenses and substitute for his fatherly responsibilities. In the last decade, Jackie never spoke about his illegitimate daughter and they led separate lives as if they were strangers.
Allegedly, Elaine hoped to send her daughter to the United States [to attend boarding school]. As a result, Elaine accepted several advertisement jobs to earn extra income recently. Due to the National Holiday on October 1st in China , Elaine took advantage of the holiday season to return to Hong Kong with her daughter. On a recent Causeway Bay shopping trip, reporters spotted eleven year-old Cheuk Lam, who resembled Elaine closely.
Due to Jackie Chan’s inappropriate remarks regarding the Hong Kong tourist deaths in the Philippines several in August, he aroused the wrath of many people. In recent months, Jackie has been living in his Beijing mansion. Although Jackie’s daughter, Cheuk Lam, is currently in Hong Kong , she lacked the opportunity to meet her father once again.

Jayne: Many men do cheat in relationships, whether they are married or not. Some extra-marital affairs are just more public than others. I found Jackie’s statement, “I committed a wrong-doing that men all over the world are guilty of,” to have a dismissive nature. He appears to justify his adultery by saying that it’s a common thing about men, dismissing its importance. From the sound of things, Jackie does not appear to be an involved father for Cheuk Lam. He even denied he was the father when Elaine’s pregnancy first surfaced and there may even have been DNA tests conducted.

With the upcoming November elections in New York State , it reminded me of former Governor, Eliot Spitzer’s prostitution scandal. Spitzer’s prostitution habit became the butt of many jokes, but I found his actions to be highly disturbing. Along with regular extra-marital affairs, apparently it’s common for men (from good backgrounds and education) to pay for sex. I know of a few friends’ friends who have paid for sex. They are well-educated men who hold professional jobs.

While traveling to Xian, China several years ago, the 4 star hotel we stayed at had a karaoke bar that offered escort services. I saw some of these girls in the elevator and they were probably 18 to early 20s. Prostitution seems to be a common and accepted practice in China . In fact, many men who vacation in China seem to love paying for these “high quality” prostitutes. “Sex vacation tours” are common in Asia and in one particularly disturbing news expose, tours that involve child prostitutes are in high demand.

Is it the convenience of paid sex that makes men gravitate towards prostitutes? They don’t have to work hard to impress a woman at the bar to have a one-night stand. Are the men so lazy? Or there is no possibility of rejection if sex is paid for? Is there a sense of power that the men have when they pay for sex and the woman will not say no? Some men’s preference for child prostitution is in a class of its own, which I find to be especially disturbing.

Men pay money to have sex with a prostitute. Keeping a mistress involves paying for her living expenses. Perhaps men have more feelings for their mistresses. But ethically, they are not very far apart from each other. If sexually-transmitted-diseases were not a concern, I believe that more men will sleep with prostitutes.

Jackie Chan Refuses to Add Illegitimate Daughter to His Will

Jackie Chan Refuses to Add Illegitimate Daughter to His Will thumbnail
The affair between Jackie Chan (成龍) and his former lover, Elaine Ng (吳綺莉) resulted in the birth of his illegitimate daughter, Etta, in 1999.  Over the years, Jackie did not spend any quality time with Etta as a father. He also decided that he will not leave any money to his daughter in his will.
Not even a Penny for Daughter!
In a recent interview, Jackie spoke about his extra-martial affair with Elaine and their illegitimate daughter for the first time. He revealed that he had asked his wife, Joan Lin (林鳳嬌), for a divorce after the affair was exposed in 1999. Surprisingly, Joan did not even scold him but empathized with his situation instead, advising him to handle the situation immediately. Feeling guilty and remorseful, Jackie decided to change his will to split his estates between his charity foundation with Joan.
Jackie revealed that he will not leave even a penny out of his $2.2 billion worth of assets to his illegitimate daughter, Etta, in his will.  Jackie said, “There is really no point in admitting that Etta is my daughter now!”
No Huge Settlement!

However, Elaine Ng was not affected by Jackie’s remarks and appeared to be calm when the reporter approached her for comments outside her daughter’s school. She even hinted that Jackie had never given her a large sum of money for settlement after breaking up.

When asked about Jackie’s comments in the magazine interview, Elaine said she did not read the recent article. As for Jackie’s previous denial that Etta is his daughter and his recent refusal to leave any money for her, Elaine replied, “Let’s not talk about it anymore. It’s already in the past.” She also felt that there is no sense talking about Jackie’s intention of divorcing his wife and insisted that everyone should move on.
Elaine said that she had no recent contact with Jackie, and she handles everything concerning her daughter.  As for whether her daughter has any desire to meet her father, Elaine said that she and her daughter have adamantly agreed not to talk about the past.  Etta had never questioned her about Jackie, but knew of their dating relationship.
Earlier reports suggested that Elaine had received a large settlement from Jackie after their breakup. Once again, Elaine stressed that these reports were absolutely false.
In addition, Elaine lost her job at a Hong Kong radio station recently, but she said the dismissal has not impacted her financial situation yet. She said, “I have a stable income. I have already put the down payments for my house so my the monthly payments are not that harsh.”

Jackie Chan flirts with female co-star on-set

The Hong Kong actor’s wife was not present during filming

Jackie Chan

When the cat is away, the mice will play.
Kungfu superstar Jackie Chan is surely living up to this proverb while filming his latest action movie, 12 Zodiacs in Taiwan.
On Jan 9, the production crew arrived at Jin-zun fishing port in Donghe Township for a chasing scene. Jackie’s wife, retired actress Joan Lin, who watched over her husband’s filming two days earlier, did not tag along this time.
The actor, who is also the director of the movie, was spotted flirting with his female co-star Yao Xing Tong during a film break. He tickled the actress, causing her to laugh and almost tripped and fell.
Jackie saved the girl from falling with his quick reflexes, holding onto her waist.
12 Zodiacs reportedly costs an estimated NT$2.8 million (S$120 million) and will include Jackie’s favourite action sequences, including gun fights, parachuting, car chases and multi-angle explosive shots.
The movie, which is reportedly the superstar’s last action drama, is scheduled to be released on Dec 12.
